Unlike "dehumanization" (which strips humanity broadly) or "racial caricature" (which distorts features generically), simianization is a targeted bestial reduction, grafting the hunched silhouette of an ape onto a human frame. It is the grotesque cartoon of a Black man with exaggerated lips and a gorilla’s body, the colonial postcard captioned "missing link," the chants hurled at Black athletes from the stands—each a calculated erosion, a forced descent into the evolutionary past. To be simianized is to have your face pressed against the glass of the human family, denied even the dignity of hatred, only the mockery of kinship.
