Why this word is great

SEGREGATIONISM — [Noun] A belief in or advocacy for the policy of segregating groups, especially based on race. From Latin segregare ("to separate from the flock") + -ism, it is the ideology of enforced division. Unlike "separatism" (which seeks independence) or "assimilationism" (which demands erasure), segregationism is the cold arithmetic of exclusion—not liberation, not unity, but the deliberate maintenance of distance. It is the whites-only water fountain, the gated community with its invisible walls, the school district redrawn along racial lines; a system that does not annihilate difference but weaponizes it, turning geography into destiny. The cruelest irony is that it requires constant maintenance: walls must be rebuilt, lines redrawn, hierarchies reinforced, because the natural state of things is not separation, but entanglement.
