Etymology

From pre- + bolus.

  1. To take a premeal (preprandial) bolus of insulin shortly before a meal (usually just a few minutes before).“Should I prebolus or not before starchy dinners?”
  2. To administer (one's insulin dose) in this way.“I'm going to prebolus my shot today.”
