Why “messiahhood” is a great word
The inherent state or condition of being the anointed deliverer promised in scripture. From Messiah (from Hebrew māšīaḥ, meaning 'anointed') + -hood (a native English suffix forming nouns denoting state or condition). Unlike 'messiahship' (which implies an official office or role) or 'divinity' (which encompasses a universal godly nature), messiahhood is the weight of a singular, prophesied identity. It is the lonely consciousness of purpose in a carpenter’s shop, the unbearable clarity of knowing which bread to break, and the quiet, pre-ordained walk toward a hill at Golgotha—the burden of being the one who was always meant to come.
