fifinella

Etymology

Name of a character in a proposed Disney movie of The Gremlins, a novel by Roald Dahl. Variously taken to mean a female gremlin in general, or the name of a specific one. Roald Dahl got the name from the name of a racehorse; see Fifinella (horse).

noun

  1. A female gremlin.“[H]e […] began the traditional Gremlin wedding rites. […] All the unmarried Fifinellas gathered at one side of the room, Gidge turned away from them and tossed the paper flowers over her shoulder. There was a quick scramble and when it was over Mitz emerged holding the prize.”
