From Ancient Greek ἀπομνημόνευσις (apomnēmóneusis, “recollection, quotation from memory”), from ἀπομνημονεύω (apomnēmoneúō, “to recollect, quote from memory”), from ἀπό (apó, “from”) + μνήμων (mnḗmōn, “mindful”).
